The village Calheta

Calheta means "little bay" and is a small town in the southwest of Madeira Island. It is located about 30 km from the capital Funchal and is one of the most important municipalities with a population of over 3,000. The small town has some cute and nice restaurants. The special thing about Calheta is the sandy beach. For this purpose, the sand was embarked from the Sahara and created artificially as a beach.
